I’ve been thinking ever since the MLK Convocation today about how important it is to remind people that tolerance and equality are possible, if we focus our attention on making them a reality.

We’re at a point in time, now more-so than ever with such amazing technology and capabilities for spreading health and knowledge at our fingertips, where we shouldn’t let something as petty as being afraid of what we cannot understand mar the innocent minds of children. Instead of teaching hate, make an effort to get to know the kind of person you find fault with. You’ll learn really quickly that every person has far more in common with his fellow man than you might expect. Teaching children this truth is the most important thing in the world, because widespread tolerance and understanding have the potential to change EVERYTHING for the better.
